[NewCandle] further adventures of pixie 23

Well something is plating out on the aluminum and emitting
gammas. Given the source material was crude ore, perhaps
there is something else in there besides U? Or a long
lived daughter product of U decay that emits gammas? My guess is
that whatever it is it is likely a metal.

Good morning, all,

Thtas a good suggestion, Horace, and one that is not difficult to try -
repeat my steps with new foil rolls and see if I get the same action again.
The "brine" is still in the bucket, covered over, so all I need do is get
more foil.

I wanted to report another little result -

Yesterday, I took one of the rolls, got a measurement of about 10,000cpm
near the open turn end, then put it in a bell jar and pumped on it for about
a half hour. Vented, lifted the bell as quickly as I could, then re-checked
the roll end. Same reading - no change.

Therefore, I would guess its not due to radon entrapment - woulda thought
that would change it a little at least if ine outgassed the roll with a
pump.
