[NewCandle] end of an era

Good afternoon, all,

Some sad news on this end - as my lab's parent company tightens their belt up, they are shuffling around some of the top end capital equipment... and I will be without an SEM in two or three weeks. Yup, my Jeol is getting boxed up and sent off to Deutschland.

If there is anyone in the group, who has either a request for some SEM and EDS views, and/or has an anomalous sample they would like to get gratis analysis on, you've got maybe 2 safe weeks tops, to get it to me. I can't say enough how this has bummed me out, as SEM work was one of the few truly rewarding phases of my job.

There are three final "pixie" hydrolysis reactors I am now running at once, so as to get them to a point where I can do EDS on the foil turns to look for transmutative evidence. Talk about beat the clock..

On a semi-related note, there were a couple of SEM shots from this most recent Al foil roll bucket run - Pixie 17, where I had added tungsten in the form of potassium tungstate to the hydrolysis recipe, and saw some hints of Au. Keith, could you let me know which e-mail address I should send these to, for posting in the archives here?

The neatest pic is what by all accounts looks like a perfect triangular pinhole, with Al-K-Cl anemonie growth along the fringes. Maybe means nothing but circumstance, but dang, its nifty looking.

All the best,

nr
