[NewCandle] Arc Oscillator

Oh, that's silly Jones.

Of course large corporations and institutions aren't going to
be studying this. They never have, and they never will. It
requires the efforts of people like me, and people like you.

The pollack thing looked kind of interesting, but that's not
what I had in mind. As I mentioned to you, I know enough from
my old experiment to control the effect. I can make massive
explosions, and silent discharges. I didn't need MIT or
Uncle Sam to do that work. We're talking 10's of thousands
of dollars here, not millions. Hey, if you have any equity
exposure, you probably lost more than that in the last
week or two ( or made that much if you timed the bottom right ).

So what's stopping us?

K,

Well - this is probably going to have to be a 'tail waging the dog'
situation, since Big Oil, in consort with Big Gov, is NOT funding this kind
of thing at a basic or any other level (even Pollack lost funding) and that
will not change soon.

The closest thing to basic and thorough is that Pollack lecture:
http://uwnews.org/uweek/uweekarticle.asp?articleID=39228

If someone in a garage gets lucky, and it would be close to blind-luck most
likely - then once an engine is shown to work for a while on "water+" (any
alternative fuel which is mostly water) ... then-and-only-then will the
mainstream and DoE be enticed to go back to square one and find out why it
works.

Hey, it's great to see young people getting their inventor groove on!

I think that if you want to see these things work ( or prove they cannot )
then some basic research is going to have to be done. Trying to run
an engine like that is a fine project for fun, but without an understanding
of the physics behind the water arc such projects are pretty much
doomed from the start. They neither prove nor disprove the hypothesis.

So is anyone out there doing basic research on water arc, like what
I was doing in '92 and Graneau was doing in the 80's?

Keith,

down memory lane... Why do you ask?

Well there are several videos on YouTube - most too amateurish to
recommend - and several active threads on groups I am following - where
people are modifying small ICEs to run on water injected through a converted
spark plug and converted electrical system. Can't find the best video, seen
earlier as it has been removed - but here is sample-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqSq3jVlMHA

and yes - most of them seem pretty far from pulling this off as of now - but
who knows.... I have seen one which purported to show an engine running on
water, but there is no assurance it was not faked.

What "might" happen, aguably - and with some good engineering - since no one
believes that water alone is possible to use as a robust fuel - is that
(NONdistilled) low ethanol "beer" of about 10% alcohol 90% water content -
will be sufficient. This would actually be a huge breakthrough, believe it
or not.

... or else my personal favorite fringe idea for transportation fuel - a
"gel" of about 5% colloid content 95% water (the colloid is a natural
product - alpha cellulose i.e. micro pulverized sawdust) BUT most of the
energy is coming from water "structure" (the Pollack EZwater) not the
colloid ....
