Just out of (intense) curiosity - and not meaning to change the subject...

... but did you ever attempt any variation of the Graneau water arc discharge? seems right down your line.

There has been a proliferation of poorly done work on converting auto ignition systems to give impressive sparks, especially on Hartmann's site, and it begs for some competent data. 

Does anyone think the Graneaus really saw a gain?
