Consider the following:

Pb-208 -> Hg-204 + He4 + 0.518 MeV
Pb-207 -> Hg-203 + He4 + 0.391  MeV
Pb-206 -> Hg-202 + He4 + 1.136 MeV

In practice Lead is stable, yet the decay to Mercury is not energetically
forbidden. Perhaps under some circumstances it can be triggered?
