Gentleman:
Consider the following engine design.
A tank is filled partly with water.
At the nozzle, an aluminum pipe a few feet long is affixed.
Point the tank ad astra, and affix stablizing fins.
Pressurize it to peak with air ( or perhaps O2 ).
Use a thermite charge to light the tail end of the pipe.
Being nowhere near the engine, turn the nozzle to start
water spraying through the tube past the lighted end.
Caution! this is an explosive reaction!
It will probably kill you. But I think it worth trying.
For safety, one might harness a few helium balloons to
get the engine aloft before test firing. A remote valve
for the nozzle, and wet wintry conditions for least
chance of starting a major forest fire with what amounts
to a flying incendiary device. Could this be Nicks UFO?
Prolly not, but it sure would look fine
cruising into the stratosphere...
K.
