Fascinating report on the aluminum blobs ! Very
thorough and researched. Well done.

Although I believe that there is a mundane explanation
(after all, fish and other weird objects fall from the
sky far from the ocean) ...

... here is one tiny bit of evidence which might
support "something else" which you apparently did not
consider (high power RF rectification by our own
spooks):

http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/Xplore/login.jsp?url=/iel5/16/31544/01471943.pdf?isnumber=31544&prod=JNL&arnumber=1471943&arSt=+8&ared=+9&arAuthor=Prince%2C+M.B.

IOW since Silicon-aluminum alloy junction diodes have
been made that have rectifying properties up to
frequencies of 500 MHz, and since that frequency would
be favorable for "remote power" i.e. - a drone craft
being powered by a beamed RF power source, this could
be evidence of a large overloaded diode which melted.
That in itself might be considered mundane... or not,
depending on "who's zooming who". The variation in
alloy content would support the possibility that there
was a junction with higher Si.

Here is a paper on beamed power -- and we have all
heard rumors of various military and NASA satellite
uses for this:

http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/Xplore/login.jsp?url=/iel1/22/3793/00141357.pdf?temp=x

Of course, usually we think of beamed power working
the other way - from a fixed earthbound position to a
small robotic craft or satellite, without its own
prime-mover power source - and our military "probably"
has many of these in Labs, ready for eventual spying
... (the "RC-model-airplane on steroids", for
instance).

... hey come to think of it, how far are the two Ohio
sites from Wright-Patterson? (Dayton) ;-). That is one
place where you might suspect beamed power to be used
and tested.

Anyway, if you buy-into the "UFOs-watching-us" stuff,
the fixed power source could also be a very large
craft outside of harms-way - sending small drones
down to "observe" unsuspecting farmers (also to
implant various gadgets, probe various body cavities,
have alien-sex, etc ;-)

Don't want to sound too cynical, but some of the tales
are pretty outlandish .... More likely, this could be
our own gov'mt testing RF powered spy drones at night
(especially the Nevada episode) and overloading a
large power diode - from time to time.

Any advanced civilization would never use that alloy
for structural parts. I would suspect that any and all
structural parts from an advanced intelligence, even
from the Pentagon, will have carbon-fiber
reinforcement and a decent beryllium content, since
Be-alloys (with Al, Mg or both) are so extraordinarily
strong and light compared to Silicon alloys (double or
more).
